Studying Gait in Parkinson Disease

Freezing of Gait (FOG) is one of the most debilitating symptoms for some Parkinson Disease (PD) patients. Most studies use a combination of subjective FOG measures and wireless kinematic based systems during walking activities. Our spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and wearable motion sensor studies allow for assessment across a wider range of both controlled and free walking tasks. Moving beyond the realm of understanding biometric data, we want to provide physicians with actionable information that can provide improvements in patient care.
